Foundation Scientific Council Member Invents Receptor Leading to New Understanding of Depression

Scientific Council Member, Bryan L. Roth, M.D., Ph.D., developed a special receptor that was added to serotonin-producing neurons in mice, enabling a powering down of these cells, which affect breathing, body temperature, and mood.

The findings shed further light on what may cause, and ultimately prevent, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Depression.
