NARSAD Young Investigator Grantee Emily G. Severance presented the 2011 Gloria Neidorf Memorial Lecture in October at the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation Annual Symposium in New York City. The controversial subject of her lecture focused on how major mental illness like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder may be affected by the ingestion of foodstuffs containing milk casings, gluten and wheat.



The Gloria Neidorf Memorial Lecture is presented annually by a NARSAD Investigator Grantee. The late Gloria Neidorf struggled with and succumbed to bipolar disorder in 1989. Her family established the Gloria Neidorf Memorial Lecture in hopes to inspire and educate others.
