Dr. Voineskos’s work uses multi-modal neuroimaging across the lifespan in mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, autism, and Alzheimer's disease to understand changes in brain circuitry in relation to behaviour. Advanced neuroimaging techniques are also applied in treatment studies to understand effects of interventions on brain structure and function, and predict response. Novel work is now aimed toward understanding subgroup and individual brain profiles in relation to behaviour and treatment planning. Dr. Voineskos holds a special interest in leading and planning multi-centre research. He currently holds operating funding as Principal Investigator from the National Institute of Mental Health, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Canada Foundation for Innovation, and Canada Research Chairs Program.
